NAME cs - set character sizes
SYNOPSIS cs [t|l|n|s|k|d
[height [ratio
[slant]]]]
DESCRIPTION Use cs to control the
height, width and slant of the plotting symbol and the characters
in a plot's title, axis labels, axis numbers, key, annotation and
date.
Character height is in C-PLOT millimeters
and refers to upper-case letters. Width is controlled
by setting the height-to-width ratio, with a default of
2. For best results, reduce the ratio for small
characters, thus making them wider, and increase it for large
ones.
Character slant is given in degrees. Positive
values slant characters to the right, negative values to the
left.
With no arguments, you are prompted to set the height,
height-to-width ratio and slant for each text group in
turn. Current values are given in parenthesis; only
the parameters for which you enter values will be changed.
Entering one value changes only the height for the characters
affected. Entering two values changes the height and
height-to-width ratio. Entering three values changes
the height, height-to-width ratio and slant.
Parameters for a single text element can be set by entering
cs and the appropriate one-letter code. You can
follow the letter with a value for the height and, optionally,
for the height-to-width ratio and slant. Otherwise you will be
prompted for values for just that text element.
The argument t selects the title, l
the axis labels, n the axis numbers, s
the plotting symbol, k the key and annotation and
d the date.
Changing the width of the symbol controls the width of error
bars and the size of data masking in gd mode
4. The symbol height controls the minimum error bar
size that is displayed. To display error bars that
have small magnitudes, decrease the symbol height.
Absolute character dimensions, given in millimeters, are
strictly accurate only on the HP-GL plotter. The
actual dimensions of characters drawn using a graphics filter
will depend on the mapping of HP-GL units to the graphics device.
EXAMPLE cs n 5 4 -45
